7.2 Drug Administration - How to get the most recent weight to display
When Drug Administration is first opened, there will be no current weight displaying. You are required to retrieve the weight by clicking the 'Weight' hyperlink that will take you to the Visit Record.
Once the Visit Record opens, on the Current weight (dosing weight), it's best to tick 'Copy from previous visit' to retrieve the weight that was used to calculate today's drug order from the compounder.
If the patient has been weighed today, this can be recorded in the field Today's weight (not affecting dose). This provides a field for the system to alert on if today's weight differs by more than 10% from the Current weight field. This may occur if the patient's Current weight (dosing weight) hasn't been updated for some time.
When the weight has been updated, click Save and Close to return to Drug Administration where the weight will display and the doses requiring weight and/or height will have calculated automatically.
