8.2 ADDIKD guidance to kidney function measurement - Se creatinine, eGFR, baseline eGFR

Se creatinine:

This hyperlink opens a popup window that allows manual entry of a Se creatinine value if no result has imported electronically. If there is no eGFR available but a Serum creatinine is, the system will calculate an eGFR automatically from the Se Creatinine.

eGFR:

The eGFR result can be clicked to open an interim popup that displays the previous 20 results, either imported, manually entered or system calculated.

From the interim popup, click 'Add' to enter a new eGFR.

A popup window opens to display fields to enter an eGFR result manually or a button 'Use as eGFR' to click to use the system calculated eGFR which is based on the Se creatinine result.
The patient's parameters display in the equation at the bottom of the popup that calculates the eGFR:

A baseline eGFR can be entered on this popup as well. This will calculate the difference between the current eGFR and the baseline to determine whether to show an alert on the Clinical Summary:

If the latest eGFR result is greater than or equal to 20% different to the baseline, an alert will display next to the eGFR label on the Clinical Summary.
The Baseline GFR can be set on the eGFR popup, or alternatively on the Baseline GFR popup.

Baseline GFR popup:
Click 'Baseline GFR' to open a popup that has fields for entry of the GFR at a certain timepoint.

Alert if eGFR differs 20% or more from baseline:

BSA-adjusted eGFR system calculation:
The BSA-adjusted eGFR is calculated when all parameters required are available. To see the system calculation, click on the BSA-adjusted eGFR label to open the popup. Patient measurements and the patient’s parameters in the equation are shown. To adjust the BSA calculation method, go to the Visit Record via the Weight hyperlink to edit the method to Mosteller or Dubois.
