17.10 Protocol Admin - Completing the Steps in a copied protocol
For protocols where treatment is administered in an infusion centre, medication steps must be preceded by an Appointment Step. In a copied protocol, the visit reason or type may need to be edited to suit your organisation. The length of the appointment may also need to change.
Following a naming convention for steps in a protocol standardises the sequence to be followed. The first appointment in a treatment centre is usually labelled "Day 1 Appointment" followed by "Day 1 Medication" and so on.

Appointment Step

A) The Visit Reason: Select the Visit reason (Diagnosis) from the drop down menu
B) The Visit Type: Select the Visit type (The type of Visit) from the drop down menu
C) This field contains the default appointment length for selected visit type, review whether applicable to protocol step and vary if need be.
D) Any notes can be added here specific to appointment in this protocol and will display for all patients assigned this protocol on the Manage Appointments page.
E) Tick field if a bed or Chair will be required for the appointment
F) Tick field if the appointment is to be created in the Calendar.
When configuring a new step, there is an option to copy details from a previously configured appointment step. This saves time when creating a protocol.

Medication Step
The + Medication tab will allow you to add a medication from the Medication List in the protocol

H) Allow dose Reduction
If you want to Delete a drug from the Protocol click the Red square with the white cross at the right side of the drug which will prompt a tab that says "Are you sure you want to delete this medication.
