Omit a step before admitting patient

· To Omit a step in a protocol, the Appointment must be in a status of 'Booked.'

· Click on patient's name on the Appointment List to open the Record Summary

· Click on 'New Visit' in the left hand menu
· (You may receive a warning message that there is already an appointment for today. Click OK and the message will go away.)

· On the New Visit page, the only field to edit is Visit Type. Change this to File Note, then click Save.
· (File Note visits do not require billing and are automatically set to 'Outpatient'.)

· On the Visit Details page, click on Visit Record

· On Visit Record, tick the box for 'Defer, Omit, Cease'

· Select 'Omit'

· Select the appointment step to omit from the drop-down list.

· Choose a Defer reason from the drop-down list and enter free text if required.

· Save.

· The appointment step on the protocol will be cancelled, and the medications will be ceased for that day.


Omit a step after patient has been admitted

· If patient has been admitted and appointment attended, go to Visit Details page.

· Open Visit Record

· Follow steps as for Omit prior to admission, selecting today's appointment to omit.

· Save

· The appointment step on the protocol will be cancelled, and the medications will be ceased for that day.
· The visit that was created when the appointment was attended will remain visible with any data that has been entered for that day.
