NEW FEATURES

PATIENT PORTAL

New ‘Previous Colonoscopy’ Question for Endoscopy Patients (EM-5040)

A new question has been added for patients with an Admission type of ‘Endoscopy’, in order to capture issues patients may have experienced with previous procedures. The mandatory question is ‘Have you had a previous Colonoscopy?*’ and if ‘Yes’ is selected a subsequent question is asked: ‘Did you have any issues with the bowel preparation?*’ and if ‘Yes’ is selected again, a ‘Please specify *’ field displays. This question is in the Gastrointestinal section of the History form.

Clearer wording has been added to the Management of Diabetes Tickboxes for both Adult and Paediatric patients (EM-2411 and EM-5579)

At the request of one of our customers, EpiSoft has amended the wording of the question regarding management of Diabetes to make the options clearer to patients. The wording previously listed the tickbox options for ‘Diabetes *’ > ‘Managed By *’ as: Diet, Tablets, Injection and Pump. The options now read Diet, tablets, Insulin Injection and Insulin Pump.

Additional Wording on Blood thinners question to include other common types of Blood Thinners (EM-5555)

The current wording has been amended for all customers using this question to include commonly used blood thinner medications to make it clearer to patients. The blood thinners question now reads:
Do you take or have you recently taken blood thinning medications (eg. aspirin / warfarin / clopidogrel (Plavix) / dabigatran (Pradaxa) / rivaroxaban (Xarelto) / apixaban (Eliquis)? *

The newly added wording has been underlined in the above.

ADMIN PORTAL

Administration ‘Legal text’ function has been relabelled to ‘Dynamic Text’ (EM-5843)

The Administration function that allows hospital customers to Dynamic Text’. This is only a cosmetic change but better reflects what the page does which is allowing customers to edit key pieces of text throughout the forms dynamically to ensure they remain relevant to patients.

BUG FIXES

Unable to save Allergies and Medications page if patient selects YES, and then NO on Allergies Grid (EM-4540)

A bug fix was applied to the Allergies and medications page that prevented a user from Saving the page if they had responded ‘Yes’ to ‘Do you have any allergies, reactions or sensitivities? *’, selected ‘Add Allergy’ and then subsequently changed their response and selected 'No' to the above allergies question. A hidden validator prevented the user saving the page. This has now been fixed.

Removal of Invalid Characters in Fields causing issues on the interface (EM-5052, EM-5672)

Episoft have enacted a change to remove some problem characters which cause interface issues with various PAS systems, either blocking the interface channel or preventing a pre-admission or followup form message being processed across the interface. Users can still enter these characters in epi-me but they will be removed upon save. The change was made to the following fields:
· Patient First Name
· Patient Last Name
· Patient Middle Name
· Patient Preferred Name
· Patient Previous Surname
· Reason for Admission

And the Invalid characters stripped from the interface are as follows:
· \
· /
· \\

Typo: Wording on Paediatric infection screening question (EM-5719)

EpiSoft have amended the wording of the question concerning infections to accord with the correct clinical terminology. The question now read: ‘Has your child had any illnesses such as gastroenteritis, or been in contact with someone who has chicken pox/hand, foot and mouth/measles/mumps/whooping cough or slap cheek in the last 14 days? *’ it previously said ‘foot and mouth’ rather than ‘hand, foot and mouth’.

Medication sub-question regarding Steroid and Cortisone injections was not saving response (EM-5808)

For customers with the question ‘Have you been on any steroid or cortisone injections in the last 12 months? *’ configured as well as the Form Configuration HISTORY_MEDS_INCLUDE_ADMITTING_DR_AWARE set to FALSE, the subquestions regarding instructions to cease and 'Or still taking?' were not saving a response. This has now been fixed.

If your portal has HISTORY_MEDS_INCLUDE_ADMITTING_DR_AWARE set to TRUE, this bug did not affect you.

No validator on Save for HC21 section on Paediatric Legal page (EM-5825)

The HC21 questions on the Paediatric Legal Page were not validating, meaning the page could be saved without a response on them. This has now been fixed.
Minor Bug Fix – ‘Are you or could you be Pregnant?’ question was copying forward to subsequent Admissions for Female patients (EM-5726)

The response to the question ‘Are you or could you be pregnant? *?’ as well as the sub-question of ‘Due date *’ was copying forward on subsequent admissions if the user had a previous Maternity admission. This question only shows for female patients and it mandates a response for ‘Due Date *’ to any future date so cannot have impacted any due dates without patients correcting the date. A fix was applied and this information will no longer copy forward.

Minor Bug Fix – Add Blood Disorders Wording to the Paediatric health history page 2 to accord with Adult Forms (EM-5709)

The first section of the second page on the Paediatric Health History omitted the section header name of ‘Blood Disorders’. This has now been amended to accord with the Adult forms.
