Pharmacy Orders
A number of enhancements have been made to Pharmacy Orders
General Pharmacy Orders changes
Tick Box at the top of the page against draft and final order to tick all unticked items in a column - please ensure your view of the page is for a single date before progressing with this check
In light of the above, for sites using checklist on Pharmacy Orders that was greyed out until the previous column was ticked, this had to be removed to enable the above function to work.
New function : Add to Order - if you have created an order for the day and added say 20 items but have a few items to add last minute, rather than creating a separate order you can opt to ADD TO ORDER. A popup window will appear to prompt you to do this if the system detects there is already an order of the same status (draft or final) for the same day.
Unused / Reused (orphan drugs) list
Review of matching criteria identified that the drug + form combination was being used to match and display an Unused drug symbol - the form has been removed from the check so the match is now on Drug only. This should result in more drugs being matched than previously
Drugs with expiry date that was before the day in view were still displaying as unused list - these are now going to the Expired and Unprocessed list
Unused drug edit item - we have redesigned the Unused drug item edit function to be more user friendly and clearer
Pharmacy Order history and printout
This result set is now returning the complete order detail rather than requiring a patient search. You can still search on a patient which will return all orders for that patient (in a date range).
The order of the list is now in order of Treatment Time e.g. 8.00 am, 8.30 am etc
You can also search by Order Date or Treatment Date.
You can now reverse an order completely. This can be done from the Order History page. If you do this, it will untick all items already ticked and signed on that order. If it is in status final, it will revert to draft. If it is in draft it will delete completely.
Carboplatin printout on Pharmacy Orders page (CSV or PDF) was showing 3 x decimal places - this has been resolved
If the dose on the online orders page is still calculating but not updated in Edit Protocol, the printed order was reading from the data in the database when it was last saved, this could result in doses.
There is a known issue in this release of not having an optimal workflow for cancelling one or more medications from an existing order. There is a workaround for this - you can regenerate an accurate list that has the cancelled items removed by reversing the order (from the Order History page) and re-signing the items in scope from the Pharmacy Orders page.
Protocol system changes
Infusion Order printout dose was printing with locked dose when locked by a nurse via drug administration. This is no longer the case. Only doctor locked dose will impact the Infusion Order printout.
Associated step changes - in protocol authoring tool, you can now associate other step types to another step. If there is an association, even if you do not select "Recalculate future dates" it will move associated steps in line with the step being moved. Previously you could only associate medication steps (typically with an appointment) however now you can associate other step types.
Patients on a clinical trial protocol now display in red on the appointment list so they stand out more from standard of care patients.
The upshot of this is that Tasks that are allocated for clinical trial for action by the nurse on day of treatment / administration will not get left behind if a user does not hit "recalculate future dates".
Auto-complete function - protocol completion as a scheduled task is now set as an organisation preference in the organisation preferences page. The scheduler to auto-complete protocols will only be set to auto-complete for orgs that have this preference checked. Furthermore, the scheduler is now checking for cycles with appointments of status - booking request and these will not be auto-completed.
Drug chart visibility of medication step - this was not always showing if the medication step was not associated but there was an associated step after. This has now been resolved. Please note that if the step is associated with an appointment, the step will still not display if the appointment has not been booked via Booking Requests.y
When creating a new step in the protocol tool and if the step exceeded the max character length, the page errored. This is now validating so this error does not occur.
Popup window for condition had an issue where the condition could be entered in textbox without the condition not found flag being set. This has been resolved.
The button on the Protocol Cycles page and general medication record has been updated to read Prescription Record (spelling mistake correction)
Meeting hospital accreditation requirements (clinical form and report changes)
New visit form for day procedures sites - Risk Assessment (Nursing) - this enables the recording of pressure risk using the Norton pressure injury scoring method, Current Infections and VTE risk. Not recommended for sites where infection data is coming from the interface.
This is initial release of this form so if changes are required, please advise and we will update in a future iteration.
New Obs Chart for day procedure sites with alternate banding and a link to the policy for Deteriorating Patient under the View Standard button that differs from med/surg hospitals. To access this version of the report, this is controlled by an Org preference checkbox of "Show Observation Report for Day Centres"
This version of the chart also required matching against baseline blood pressure hence the Visit Record has been updated to include the recording of a baseline blood pressure. The colour banding on the BP chart is dynamically set based on the patient's BP at baseline. Since pic below.
Cannulation report - this new report records successful cannulations. Based on the user's role, you can run the report for all nurses or just for your own cannulations. Managers, Nurse Unit Managers and Sys Admins will have access to view all cannulators whereas general ward nurses will have access to just run for themselves. The cannulation report can also be filtered by other items such as date and doctor (on the visit).
Hepatitis program changes
Hep B outcomes report tracking changes
Tracking of patients at risk of HCC - Note you must have HCC risk factors recorded in latest copy of the HBV assessment and history form in order for this to show up as the patient is currently at risk of Hepatocellular Carcinoma
If HBV DVA result is recorded as Not Applicable, N/A will now display in the result column instead of blank.
New columns on report -
First clinic visit to specialist is recorded as first appointment date for patient
First visit to a shared organisation is recorded as first appointment date with GP
Date that GP marks off appointment as attended is recorded as the date the appointment occurred. If any other changes are saved to the data on that appointment step after this time point, this may not be accurate representation of the appointment attendance date however we do not store the datetime the attendance flag is set in the protocol system.
Hep B program - manually entered test results
The sample date and the result column are now swapped do result is prior to sample date
