Pharmacy Changes
Due to the impact it would have on performance we do not check whether a drug has been ordered or not when a users clicks the 'Check All' tick box on the received column. This was causing drugs that had not been ordered but erroneously marked as received to go to 'Orphan drugs'. We have now implemented a check in 'Orphan Drugs' to ensure that orphaned medications have been ordered as well as received.
Medications & Prescribing
We have added a validator to the print DHS script page to prevent users clicking 'Print & Save' or 'Save & Close' without first selecting a medication. If a user enters ticks the 'Authority Script' checkbox or enters an authority number to the authority field this will automatically check the automatically select that medication for printing.
When an 'ad hoc' medication was added to a protocol and then ceased the medication ceased date was missing from the dose change history list, this has been resolved.
Performance Optimisation
We have been looking into areas of the system where we can improve performance (speed). We found an area of significant inefficiency on the protocol cycles page which has been optimised and you should notice a significant improvement in performance on pages where the patient has a number of active cycles.
Likewise the drug chart, rendering the visible drug steps was working inefficiently we have improved the rendering, the dose change history icon on all pages (including drug administration, edit protocol & pharmacy orders) has been optimised. This will improve the speed on all these pages by (based on our benchmark testing) about 30%.
We know that there is still a significant way to go to improve performance on some of the most complex pages such as Edit Protocol and Pharmacy Orders - this will require a major rewrite of these pages. This is now in design phase.
We will be working on a continuous performance monitoring and improvement process as part of our upcoming releases.
Major rewrites to pages that could further improve performance will be scheduled for development after priority work items now on the worklist being:
-24 hour nurse signature
-Tyro integration
- Cytotoxic report
- Treatment variance report
Infection Icon on appointment list
There is a known issue with the infection icon erroneously displaying on the appointment list when the nurse risk assessment form is saved. We have a patch release that will be deployed tomorrow night.
New Protocol Authoring
We have release a new version of the protocol authoring. The new authoring module is significantly faster and more intuitive than the previous version.
Separate release notes are available for this. Search term in Knowledgebase 28/09/16 (or protocol authoring) to find these.
New Reports FOR AOD users
A new 'Case Load' report has been developed and deployed as part of tonight's release. Could AOD users please liaise with Michael on enabling in production for the roles that need access to this.
