2024/12/09 Episoft Release Notes - Clinical and Admin
Enhanced Program Management page
The Program Management page has been updated with a new name: 'Clinical Trials/Programs' to reflect the current use of this page.
All patients participating in a clinical trial can be viewed now without requiring a date range to be entered. New filters enable searching on:
- a particular trial
- by the patient's Trial/program ID
- patients who were ever enrolled
- date enrolled by date range
- those in screening
Patient records that have been shared to another organisation display with an icon on the left of the patient name, shown in the following screenshot.
Below are screenshots of the Clinical Trials/Programs page before and after this release.
Monitor access to clinical trial patients has been locked down further to be 'read-only' for all patient pages
Allergy search changed to 'typeahead'
- Allergy search changed to 'typeahead' and features to increase coded recording of patient allergies
- Up until now, search for allergies has required clicking a Lookup button and searching the allergy coded list. Now it is much simpler to search from the allergies page by typing into the search field, selecting from the drop-down list that appears, then entering the reaction to the allergen.
- There have also been a number of changes to the list to further improve the ratio of coded to uncoded allergies. The objective is to improve the ratio of coded vs. uncoded allergies in advance of the allergy-drug interaction checking feature scheduled for release in 2025. An audit of free text versus coded allergies found that only 60% of allergies had a code, 10% less than patient portals using the same list and 30% less than patients using the improved list that is part of this release.
Minor changes and bug fixes
- Appointments by Service Setting report and the 'Additional Detail' report have a new filter of 'Site' and a new column of 'Site' to refine the search on appointments even further.
- If a nurse needs to enter the time of drug administration on a past date, the date of administration will now display next to the drug, as well as the time.
- Patient reminders and patient reports were displayed in ascending order with most recent showing last. At the request of one of our users we've changed this to show most recent reminders and reports first.
- We've fixed the issue where 'right-click and paste' didn't work when pasting text or tables from Word into visit notes
- If an organisation is set up for sending to My Health Record and the patient has a MHR, the treatment cycle summary document auto generated from the cycle completion function previously had to be checked via via the Letters to Sign/Send module. Given that the Australian Government is planning to move to a Share By Default (initially this regulation will cover only diagnostic reports but other document types will be gradually included), the treatment cycle summary will now upload automatically without a user needing to manually send it to MHR. Completed cycles will upload that evening. You can view your uploaded documents under the My Health Record tab in Patient Timeline. If you need to make a correction, uncomplete the treatment cycle, make the data correction and recomplete the cycle.
- Pathology form added for Southern IML Pathology and enabled for the facility that requested this form mapping. We will populate test request forms provided to us only if they are provided in a high quality resolution so please contact your diagnostic providers for a high resolution PDF of their request forms if you need us to do this for you.
- A patient-specific BP systolic range would not allow entry of just one value e.g. lower than or higher than so that both were required to be entered in the visit record. Now only one field is mandatory so an alert on a patient's systolic BP falling below 90 mmMg is able to be created.
- Some sites were having an issue with the location of the treatment appointment changing if the clinician on the appointment was changed in the Edit Protocol appointment popup. Now, the location will remain the same as long as the Dr visits that location so the behaviour of setting location and resource when changing the clinician is consistent with the main Edit Appointment screen.
- The Patient Health Fund report was missing several health funds if no contract had been saved, despite there being patients who belonged to those funds. There was an unnecessary link to the health fund product/table of cover list and recently added health funds had no product information. Now the report will show all health funds regardless of whether there is a link to a health fund product or not.
- Some minor navigation issues on the Debtors' Management page have been rectified including ability to tab to the Search button and use Enter to go directly to the Search button when using the Chrome browser.
- For AOD organisations, setting the AOD Visit Detail page to complete for visits with a Visit Type of Brief Intervention was not closing the referral. This has been corrected and the referral will now close as expected.
