30/08/17 - Release Notes (Clinical)

Protocol module

Visit Form name change - We have now aligned the name of the protocol visit form with the name of the cycles page. These are both now called Protocol Cycles (EpiSteme) - please let your users know if they can't find the visit form it has been renamed

Protocol search
all on the patient record is now alpha sorting the protocol list. For users of the cloud version this will bring all the common hepatitis protocols to the top that are starting with inverted commas. This will be changed down the track when we establish publish groups for protocols. The alpha sorting is meant to help Drs find protocols more easily that they are searching form so please let your Drs know that this is now alpha sorting.

Flow chart sometimes duplicating dose changes
If the nurse edited the dose of the same drug more than once on the drug administration chart, this was duplicating records on the Flow Chart. This has been resolved.

Nurse dose edits on drug administration
affecting dose change history
An issue was found where a nurse entered an actual dose that was missing because of no weight and the dose change history was not recorded correctly, as well as the data on Edit Protocol at time of lock was incorrect. A validation has been introduced where an actual dose cannot be entered on an unlocked calculating dose until a dose is entered via recording the weight.

Medication substitution visibility of drug change As you know from previous release, we have removed the option to substitute meds till further notice but meantime we have tightened up the copy forward on existing substituted meds to ensure that there is visibility of drug being reverted in the Copy Cycles page.

Nurse administration layout change The Edit pencil on the line item was centred on the record - this is now at the top of the line item on a multi-line drug chart record.

Reverse nurse drug chart
- If treatment appointment does not proceed but the drug chart has been signed or modified in some way, we now have the ability to reverse the drug chart. This is a permission based function with the reverse icon only visible on the cycles page if you have the permission to reverse. If you reverse a Visit Note will be automatically created with the detail. Only senior nursing staff and administrators should have the permission to reverse - we have set up the main roles to do this but please notify us if you require this access and don't have it. See below screenshot.

Yellow protocol icon on Appointment List page
For organisation that have implemented 3 x signatures rather than the more typical 1 signature on protocols, then the icon on Appointments was turning green with first signature. It will now stay yellow until all 3 signatures are in place on the cycle.

Pharmacy Orders updates

A change has been made to Pharmacy Orders to select multiple sites. Users with default of 'View All Sites' in their role profile will default to all, otherwise the listing will show the sites associated to the logged in user.

Pharmacy Orders also had a refresh on the ticks issue if the user ticked a number of items and then saved while having a date range search applied. This has been resolved so the ticked columns auto refresh if you re-search on a date range or other non-default search option.

Pharmacy Orders printout to PDF or comma delimited was not including the volume and diluent - this is now included in the Medication name.

Pharmacy Orders printout to PDF was centring the patient name on the line item so if the drug name is long, the line item was a bit hard to read. Patient name is now at the top of the line item.

Observations updates
The Obs record now has a field to optionally record level of consciousness with default of fully alert. This will be added as a chart option to the Obs Chart in a future release.

Reports (clinical)

Cancer sites

New nursing audit reports are now available for:
Nurse Assessment form x 2 (the Access details and the other fields are in two separate reports)
Nursing risk assessment report
Changes to the Treatment Variance report to include patient name - clinician filter is already available at the top of the column and it was also mentioned that a number of protocols are showing on this report that are not required to track variance. At the moment, this displays all protocols other than those in the Blood Groups listing. If you want to add more protocol reporting groups, please notify us and let us know if they need to be excluded from the variance report
Protocol List Report - this is available for beta release to SAH and NCI who requested this. It will be made available to other sites once beta sites have reviewed and provided feedback.
