NEW FEATURES
PATIENT SELF-SERVICE OUTPATIENT APPOINTMENT BOOKING MODULE (MATERNITY APPOINTMENTS)
EpiSoft is releasing its first production iteration of the Appointment Booking module of epi-me; for the initial use-case of Maternity Appointments.
Healthcare providers can use this module to roster maternity pre-admission clinic appointments and antenatal classes, which are then offered to maternity patients.
See comprehensive user documentation:
1. How to configure and roster appointments for patients to book - epi-me Outpatient Appointments module
2. How to book a maternity pre-admission clinic appointment - epi-me Outpatient Appointments module
3. How to book maternity antenatal classes - epi-me Outpatient Appointments module
4. How to view and edit appointments after they are booked - epi-me Outpatient Appointments module
GENERAL ENHANCEMENTS
Admission Worklist Patient Name seach filters have been swapped to match the order they appear in the results grid (EM-4930)
BUG FIXES
Payments of Estimates of Fees without associated MRN caused onscreen error, encouraging patients to re-pay which then charged their card again (EM-5007)
This critical bug was charging patients twice for the same Estimate of Fees. This was caused by the admitting facility being changed after the Estimate of Fees was sent to the patient by staff.
Whilst this fix will prevent patients being charged twice, there is still an outstanding, related issue EM-5013
Estimate of fees incomplete email had the Facility Abbreviation instead of the Facility Full Name in the %%HospitalName%% parameter (EM-4885)
This is now fixed.
Update the Due Date of active, incomplete Preadmission Follow-Up Forms if the Admission Date is changed (EM-4749)
If the linked eAdmission has its admission date changed using the Admission Details page accessible after Admin Portal Users unsubmit the eAdmission, the Due Date of any Preadmission Follow-Up Forms such as COVID Screening were not being aligned. This resulted in the Follow-Up Form 'locking' (autoclosing) at the original admission date which could be well before the revised admission date.
This has now been fixed.
OUTSTANDING BUGS
Change of admitting facility could withhold MRN from Informed Financial Consent and Payments detail submission to PAS (EM-5013)
The scenario described in EM-5007 is still causing some Informed Financial Consent and Payments details being sent to the PAS without an MRN.
Workaround - If the admitting facility changes after the eAdmission is processed in PAS, staff should be sure to update the PAS admission record with the correct facility so that the MRN is re-issued to epi-me against the current admitting facility.
If Maternity Pre Admission Appointments occupy > 1 system timeslot, then Admin Portal Users cannot reliably offer two appointments simultaneously for one facility (EM-4924)
If the Pre Admission Appointment is longer than 1 system timeslot in duration, then a duplicate roster will attempt to partially overlap the appointments rather than fully overlap them eg. one appointment starts halfway through the other.
Workaround - As the initial client using this Outpatient Appointments module has a Pre Admission Appointment of 1 timeslot duration, they will not be affected by this bug.
Maternity patients are informed they have not booked their classes by their due date on the Follow Up Forms list even if they have booked classes (EM-4979)
Following the admission date / due date, the Maternity Class Booking Form 'Due by' text states the patient has not completed the form by their due date. This is only visible if the patient clicks the Follow Up Forms button against their particular maternity eAdmission on the Patient Portal.
Workaround - If a patient does happen to see this, they can open the Class Booking Form to confirm the list of classes they have booked, if any.
The reserved Session/Class is 'unreserved' every 15 minutes regardless of the actual reserve time (EM-4979)
For patients booking antenatal classes, the system is expected to remove a patient's reservation if they have not paid / confirmed their selection. This happens at an interval equal to the Reserve time configured against the class. However, the system is ignoring this configured Reserve time and appears to be wiping reservations every 15 minutes regardless.
Workaround - As most patients will confirm / pay for their class immediately, most patients will not be impacted. If their reservations do happen to be cleared, they can simply re-add the Session/Class to their list of classes again and pay for it.
