2022/11/14 Patch Release Notes epi-me (eAdmissions)
BUG FIXES
Update the Due Date of active, incomplete Preadmission Follow-Up Forms if the Admission Date is rescheduled via interface (EM-5103, Helpdesk #22123)
This bug builds upon an existing fix (EM-4749, Release 2022/09/05) to update the Due Date of the Preadmission Follow-Up Form if the linked eAdmission has its admission date changed using the Admission Details page accessible after Admin Portal Users unsubmit the eAdmission.
On receipt of an ADT update message from the healthcare provider's Patient Administration System, the Due Date of active, incomplete Preadmission Follow-Up Forms now also updates.
Please note that completed or autoclosed (because the admission date has already passed) Preadmission Follow-Up Forms will not have their Due Date update.
Automatically trigger the Preadmission Follow-Up Form Invite if the patient has missed the scheduled invite window (EM-5103, Helpdesk #22123)
This was a missed requirement in the initial development of the Preadmission Follow Up Form Invite to Complete Event. As a result, patients who eAdmit after the scheduled invite window (eg. 3 days before admission) are not invited to complete Preadmission Follow-Up Forms which is a potential clinical safety risk if the Form is COVID Screening.
The Preadmission Follow Up Form Invite to Complete now re-triggers at the configured Time to send if the patient eAdmits after the Event is scheduled.
For example, if the Event is configured to send at 4PM 3 days before admission:
1. If the patient eAdmits at 2PM 2 days before admission (i.e before 4PM), then the patient will be invited at 4PM that same day
2. If another patient eAdmits at 5PM (i.e after 4PM) then they will be invited at 4PM the next day.
The Event will only retrigger once for any given patient eAdmission up until (and including) the day of admission. Therefore the Preadmission Follow Up Form Incomplete Event can be used to remind in the leadup to admission. The Incomplete Event reminder will not trigger if the patient has not been Invited yet.
COVID (Screening) Alerts were not being included in the Staff Clinical Alert emails (EM-4496, Helpdesk #19180)
The 'COVID' alert (introduced in the 2021/12/15 Release and subsequently varied in the 2022/02/15 Release) was not being sent in the Staff Clinical Alert emails.
This has been fixed.
COVID (Screening) PDF Printout was displaying the date of the patient's initial COVID vaccination as the third vaccination date (EM-4431, Helpdesk #18814)
The PDF is now correctly showing the vaccination dates entered on the online COVID Screening form.
The COVID Alert did not trigger the 'Alert' symbol on the Admission Worklist (EM-4001)
The Alerts symbol on the Admission Worklist only did not flag any alerts indicated by the patient's eAdmission form, and not any linked Follow Up Forms such as the Preadmission COVID Screening Form.
This has been open since the initial release of the Preadmission COVID Screening Form (Release Notes).
This has now been resolved.
The colour of the Follow Up Form Icon does not clearly represent the status of the Preadmission COVID Screening Form (EM-5022, Helpdesk #22073)
It was green (typically indicating 'success' / completion of a form) when the form was not-existent (invite to patient not yet sent) or when the form had been created and was complete. The icon turned yellow when the form was created but incomplete.
This has been open since the initial release of the Preadmission COVID Screening Form (Release Notes).
This has now been resolved and the colours are as follows:
Blue indicating the COVID Screening Form has not been created (i.e no invite sent or healthcare provider staff have manually created it).
Yellow indicating it has been created but is incomplete.
Green indicating it has been completed.
OUTSTANDING ISSUES
These are known issues which have not been resolved in this Release.
The COVID Screening Form Due Date does not reschedule in-line with the admission date if it is already completed or inactivated (EM-5124 / EM-5114)
As per EM-5103 above, the COVID Form Due Date will not reschedule if the Form is already completed or inactivated.
This will mean that if a patient's admission date changes AFTER they have completed the COVID Form, or if their admission date was rescheduled from a past date to a future date, the COVID Form will be 'locked' / read-only and not available for patient update / completion (as applicable) for their new admission date.
Workaround - Healthcare provider staff will need to use manual COVID Screening processes in this scenario.
In the event of an admission date change, the COVID Form may not reinvite the patient depending on the number of days the date moved (EM-5115)
The solution to EM-5103 above has introduced another potential issue which is that the patient will not be 'reinvited' to complete their COVID Screening Form if their admission date is rescheduled by only a few days.
To prevent spamming the patients, there is a system restriction that prevents two COVID Screening invites from being sent within the space of 72 hours. Instead, the system uses reminders.
This means that if an admission date moves forward or backward by up to 72 hours and the patient has already been invited to complete their COVID Screening, they will only receive the relevant reminders based on their new admission date.
Workaround - In practice, this is unlikely to result in any issues with patients filling out their COVID form, as the reminders are sensitive to their current admission date.
